Lucio Fontana, Concetto Spaziale, 1966 Waterbased paint on canvas with multiple holes (green) 100 x 81 cm. (38 3/8 x 31 7/8 in.) This painting is covered by a smooth green surface, which is occupied by a wide oval shape that seemed to have been traced with the end of a brush. Inside this oval is fifteen vertical lines that have been done by holes. The artist have traced seven vertical lines on the right side of the circle by perforating holes from the front of the canvas. On the left side of the circle, he has depicted eight lines made of a line of holes that have been perforated from the back of the canvas. In many ways, Fontana's gestural paintings have been a pioneer to performance art.
